Shout out to our friends in NYC!

ACC thanks the Collegiate Churches of New York for their generous support over the past 5 years.  Their contributions of $102,900 have helped build 8 new classrooms benefitting 320 children this year and every year from now on. Thank you to the Collegiate Churches of New York—these kids know you care!

Five New Classrooms Under Construction!

The list of communities in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, waiting to add new classrooms for their students just continues to grow.  Currently, 125 schools have placed their deposits and are waiting for buildings, and nearly 30 new requests are vetted every month.  ACC is committed to helping shrink that waiting list, and thanks to your generous donations we were able to grant $58,500 to Eshowe Community Action Group (ECAG), our on-the-ground classroom partner, to build 5 new classrooms in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.  That means about 200 more students will soon have a roof over their head during school, and teachers will have fewer kids per classroom.

These schools are so important for students and give their communities such pride,” said Lungile Dlamini, the project administrator for ECAG.  We cannot thank you enough for the work you are doing to support South African children.”

Africa Classroom Connection holds a vision that every child in KwaZulu-Natal has the opportunity for an
excellent education. Our mission is providing resources to help build and improve schools in KwaZulu-Natal. We work to get buildings built, help kids stay in school, and facilitate cultural exchanges/overseas travel.

2018 Learning Tour:

Travel with us to Africa on our next Learning Tour:

Jan. 15 - Feb. 4, 2018

"I quickly saw that this trip could be a trip of a lifetime. In what other trip would I experience a wedding in Malawi as an invited guest? Interact with hundreds of children in their schools? Visit museums documenting apartheid with tour guides who lived through it? Meet people engaged in the mission to educate children - principals, teachers, Rotarians, concerned, community-minded citizens?

- Marla Kapperud, 2016 Learning Tour participant
